Paint Out Norfolk 2023 this year threw up some different challenges compared to the heat wave conditions of the PON22 event

Paint Out Norfolk 2023 saw an entirely different set of conditions which included gale force winds, driving rain, thunder storms, lightening and on occasion, blue sky.
“Having the right equipment and also the right clothing were really important at this years event. A sturdy tripod for my pochade box was essential as was protective clothing and an umbrella when there was a downpour”

Being Norfolk, there is an abundance of countryside, coast and of course windmills to have a go at. The above painting ‘Thurne Mill Windpump’ is available, click here for details.
‘Field of Gold’ in the great Norfolk countryside
‘Field of Gold’ by Paula Mitchell captures the beautiful golden crop field with the bold Norfolk sky above. These two elements are joined by the typical British countryside scene of oak trees, rooftops and old wooden communication pylons that knit the countryside together.

Paint Out Norfolk 2023 celebrates its 10th Anniversary
Paint Out Norfolk 2023 was my third time participating in the event which I was delighted to be able to support. As a full time painter I am joined by other professional artists as well as some very talented amateur painters.
Age is no boundary either at this event with ages ranging from 25 to 75. People travel from far and wide to participate so among the British artists we had participants from as far as the Faroe Islands.
When I speak to painters from all ages, backgrounds and levels, there is a unifying factor to them all. That is that we feel energised by taking part in events like Paint Out Norfolk.
